Attestation of Identity , Address & NRI Status proof
  • Embassy Attested
  • Attested by Notary Public
  • Attestation by a banker or Exchange Company
  • Directly submitting to our branch / Relationship Managers
  • Self Attested*
An account payee cheque of your existing NRE a/c with a Bank in India, drawn in
your name for a minimum Rs 5000/- .
Original Overseas Bank or Credit Card Statement, of a recent date (not more
than 6 months old) - Self Attested by the customer.


*In case the required documents are self-attested, items 5 & 6 are mandatory.

  • Federal bank's account opening happens centrally.
  • Branch will send your request to our Central Processing Centre (CPC). 
  • You will receive a welcome kit at the address furnished in the AOF in 7 days which will have your account number and personalised Cheque Book.
  • Your Debit card and ATM PIN will be despatched to your branch and FedNet PIN will be send to your address directly
  • You need to collect your Debit Card and ATM Pinmailer from your branch

If you are in a hurry to open the account there's a speedier way.

  • You can opt for pre-opened kit containing account number, FedNet PIN mailer, non-personalised ATM card, and non- personalised cheque book.
  • Withdrawals are allowed only after activation of the account. So you cannot issue a cheque against the account till the activation is over.
  • Once you acknowledge the pre-opened kit, the account will be activated within 7 days.
  • If you have opened your account through our Relationship Managers stationed abroad it may take up to 15 days to get the account activated.
  • The Debit Card and Cheque Book received in your welcome kit can be personalised by giving a request to branch/ representative.


Open NRI Account Online

An NRE account or NRO account can be opened at any bank. Maintaining an NRE account is the best way to keep your savings in India. You can also invest your hard-earned foreign currency by opening an NRE fixed deposit through online NRI banking facilities. You can apply for an NRI account online through a Bank's website. You can fill the account opening form online and upload the scanned copy of required documents.
