Federal Bank has been contributing to the growth of Kerala State since its inception. The Bank is known for its social ethos through its various CSR activities across the State and across the country. With the institution of this award, the Bank has ventured into the Malayalam literary world.

With this distinguished award, of a generous cash prize of Rupees One Lakh, Federal Bank is now scripting a unique story by leading the literature innovation and is scaling its journey from presence to prominence to dominance.

We firmly believe that innovation knows no bounds, and this journey from banking to literature is a testament to our commitment to pushing the boundaries of excellence. With the Federal Bank Literary Awards, we not only celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Kerala but also support and nurture the future of Malayalam literature.

The Bank invites nominations for literary works in Malayalam published between November 1, 2022, and October 31, 2023. 

Prize:  The Federal Bank Sahithya Puraskaram 2023 carries a distinguished prize of Rupees One Lakh along with a trophy, symbolizing our appreciation for the profound impact of literature on society. 

 

Submission Details: 

For General Public & Authors   

  • Authors and avid readers shall submit nominations for up to 3 exceptional books, exploring the diversity and depth of Malayalam literature. 
  • Click here to nominate online

 

For Publishers

  • Publishers shall submit nominations for up to 10 exceptional books published by them between 1st Nov 2022 and 31st Oct 2023.
  • Publishers shall email the following details to marketing@federalbank.co.in

General Guidelines:

  • Malayalam books in all genres can be nominated.
  • Books must have been published between 1st Nov 2022 and 31st Oct 2023.
  • A user can nominate maximum of 3 books only. There is no minimum cap.
  • A publisher cab nominate maximum of 10 books. There is no minimum cap.
  • Nominations can be submitted until 15th November 2023. 
  • Translated books/ edited/ compiled works and book with multiple authors are not eligible to be nominated.
  • The culmination of this process will be the announcement of the award winners during the Kerala Literature Fest to be held at Kozhikode in January 2024.

Federal Bank proudly presents the Federal Bank Sahithya Puraskaram 2022, a recognition of outstanding literary achievements. Notable writer K Venu was honored with this prestigious award for his autobiography, Oranweshanathinte Kadha, during the esteemed Kerala Literature Festival held at Kozhikode.

The announcement of this esteemed award was made by Nandakumar V, EVP & Head – Branch Banking, and the award was presented by Balagopal Chandrasekhar, Chairman and Independent Director of the Bank. Mr. Chandrasekhar also delivered a thought-provoking keynote address, further enriching the literary spirit of the occasion.

The awardee was selected after a rigorous process of selection. 10 most popular nominations were sent to a judging committee comprising of KC Narayanan, PK Rajasekharan and Sunil P Ilayidom. Notable writer M Mukundan presided over the function. Mohanadas T S, DVP and Regional Head of Kozhikode Region delivered the welcome speech, and the vote of thanks was proposed by Josemon P David, DVP of the Bank.
