Speak For India - What Is It?
In 2014, the Federal Bank Hormis Memorial Foundation collaborated with The Times of India Group to launch the 'Speak For India' initiative, to empower and encourage the youth to voice the change they wish to see. Students from colleges across the states participate in huge numbers in this CSR initiative every year. This is a debate contest that gives college students the platform they require to discover and share their insights and opinions on cutting-edge topics.
Speak For India - The Philosophy
The Speak For India debate contest is an initiative that encourages the youth to articulate their thoughts, voice their opinions backed by facts and insights, and indulge in productive discussions. The contest not only enhances the critical thinking and communication skills of the youth but also fosters the next generation of young leaders.
Federal Bank has identified the need to have a platform where the youth can have healthy debates, which helps broaden their perspective, triggers intellectual conversations, and hone their communication skills. This plays a very important role in honing the abilities and skills of the country’s potential future leaders.
Furthermore, health debates on critical issues not only enhance various crucial skills of the youth but also instil in them a very important quality - empathy. The Speak For India platform empowers the youth to not only discuss the challenges faced by communities and societies but also come up with constructive solutions.
Organized by the Federal Bank Hormis Memorial Foundation, 'Speak for India' is the ultimate power play for the youth, giving them the mic to spit fire on a diverse range of issues. These dynamic debaters, with their riveting display of intellect and charisma, left the judges and spectators alike in awe of their fiery style of presentation.
Speak For India - Editions
College students can register for the Speak For India Debate Contest online. The evaluation phases would include district, zonal, semi-final, and the final rounds. The debate contest will be organised at common venues in various states such as Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamilnadu, Delhi-NCR, Gujarat, West Bengal etc.
