The Adyar branch of Federal Bank was the first to have a mural painted across its walls to kickstart a campaign designed to capture the spirit of the city and document its culture and folklore. Over 120 stories and portraits were created, of which the 40 most inspirational are set to be displayed to the world. The message, however, goes beyond just displaying art. Federal Bank is looking to celebrate the soul of Adyar.
The Driving Force
Federal Bank's Adyar project also focuses on small businesses and local vendors. More than 75 small firms have joined the movement so far. Federal Bank has also reached out to over 340 shops for the installation of mobile point-of-sale (POS) systems. The aim is to empower local vendors, ensuring their deals are more organised and improving their business ventures.
The Adyar project also involves a celebration of notable Adyarites or people from the city who have made special contributions to the community. Called the 'Humans of Adyar Exhibition', the exciting event will showcase stories and portraits expressed through murals.
