What is ReKYC?

Periodic Updation (Generally called ReKYC) means steps taken to ensure that documents, data or information collected under the customer due diligence process is kept up-to-date and relevant by undertaking reviews of existing records at periodicity prescribed by the Reserve Bank of India.

This is carried out at regular intervals as prescribed based on risk categories of customers. Account operation may be interrupted if customers are unable to update their ReKYC details with the Bank.

Eligibility for ReKYC

Individual customers having no change in the existing KYC information such as address, mobile Number, e-mail ID etc., can update their ReKYC through Federal Bank ATMs/CDMS, Interactive Voice Response (IVR) and SMS *. In case of any change, the customer needs to contact the branch.

*Conditions apply. The eligibility for ReKYC through the aforementioned channels shall be subject to the validity of the Officially Valid Document ( OVD) submitted to the Bank. Steps to Follow

How to update ReKYC

 

  1. During cash withdrawal and balance inquiry through Federal Bank ATM/CDM:
    • Screen for submission of ReKYC will be populated* before cash dispensation
    • Customers will be provided option for ReKYC (Yes/No)
    • If proceeding with Y, existing KYC detail such as communication address, mobile number , email id will be displayed to customers
    • Customers can confirm their KYC on the screen
    • Proper communication via sms will be sent to the customer
    • Dial 04842630994/995
    • Press 2 (General Banking Service)
    • Press 0 (Self service)
    • Press 1 (ReKYC service)
    • Enter year of birth in YYYY format
    • Press 1 (if there is no change in KYC information)
    • SMS communication will be delivered to customer upon successful updation with the Bank
    • Send SMS in the format REKYC Y to 09811577567 from the registered mobile number with the Bank
    • SMS communication will be delivered to customer upon successful updating with the Bank.
