Does my mobile phone support J2ME Mobile Banking?
- Please refer to your phone manual or manufacturer's website to verify if your handset is a Java enabled one
- You can view the sample list of Compatible Handsets
- In case you do not know your handset model, please check the phone manual provided with the same. The handset model/number may be printed beneath the battery inside the handset
- Some corporate Blackberry phones may not allow installation of 3rd party applications
- Currently, J2ME Mobile Banking is not supported on Apple iPhone. But GPRS Banking is possible
How do I know if my wireless device has Internet access?
- Contact your mobile service provider to confirm that your wireless device has Internet access. Your service provider may charge a fee for it's services, so ask for details on fees and charges
Is J2ME Mobile Banking supported on all mobile operators?

Will I be charged for using J2ME Mobile Banking?
- As of now the service is offered at free of cost. However, please bear in mind that standard GPRS download/access rates will be applicable as per your telecom if GPRS is the mode of communication or SMS charges will apply if SMS is the mode of communication. If the SMS is sent to premium short code, then premium SMS charges are applicable
How do I login to J2ME Mobile Banking Application?
- Click on the J2ME Application Mobile icon in your mobile phone's 'Application' folder. Select the GPRS / SMS channel to chose the channel to make your bank transactions. Type in your User ID and your MPIN to log into J2ME Mobile Banking
How do I logout of J2ME Mobile Banking Application?
- At any stage, while browsing through J2ME Mobile Banking Application you can logout by clicking on the Main Menu > Logout option
What if I get disconnected or my mobile phone switches off while performing a transaction?
- You can simply reconnect to J2ME Mobile Banking and verify your transaction history to check if the transaction has been successfully executed
What if I get an SMS or a call while performing a transaction?
- On most handsets, you can answer the call or read the SMS while J2ME Mobile Banking continues to run in the background. After you have finished your call, you can resume banking on J2ME Mobile Banking. For certain handsets however, you may need to re-open the application and login again
Can I access Federal Bank Mobile Banking when I am on national roaming?
- Yes, as long as you have GPRS activated on your mobile number, subject to availability of the network, you can access J2ME Mobile Banking anywhere in the country. You might be charged special roaming rates for using GPRS
What if I want to change my mobile phone device?
- You will have to re-download J2ME Mobile Banking Application on your new handset. Follow the set of download instructions. The customer is required to request the bank to re-activate the application and inform the Bank of the same
What if I change my mobile number?
- J2ME Mobile Banking Application will not allow to perform the login or bank transactions. The customer is required to apply again at the branch for changing the mobile number
Are there any transaction limits to the transactions I can perform?
- Yes. Transaction limits are defined by RBI on mobile banking. At present it is Rs50000 per day and Rs200000 per month. All transactions are authorized with One Time Password(OTP), sent to customer's registered mobile phone. The phone should have the capability to show OTP flash message on top of the mobile screen

How do I download FB Mobile Banking?
- Step-1. The customer receive the SMS Message while registered to 'J2ME Mobile Banking'. You will receive an SMS from the bank with the download URL for 'J2ME Mobile Banking'
- Step-2. Click on the link in the message
- Step-3. A Web page will prompt you click on link to download the application
- Step-4. The application starts downloading to your mobile
What are the ways of downloading?
- The customer can download the application by typing the URL https://mobile.federalbank.co.in/j2me/ in mobile browser. Customer can also visit the Internet website(https://mobile.federalbank.co.in/) using his computer, download the application to the computer and transfer the application to phone by using data cable, memory card, Bluetooth etc
How do I know whether my mobile is Java enabled?
- To check whether your phone is Java-enabled, please refer your phone book manual or the phone manufacturer's website. [If you can download games through your mobile phone, your mobile is Java-enabled]
While downloading, I get a message saying "Un-trusted Application". What should I do?
- Please select 'Yes' for this option. This option is specific to the mobile device and will not affect the application or mobile phone
Where will 'J2ME Mobile Banking Application' get downloaded on my phone?
- The downloaded applications are stored in a particular folder of the handset, specific to each device. Typically it should reside either in the Applications or Games folder of your phone

- Step-7. This will install the application automatically and the 'J2ME Mobile Banking' Federal Bank icon will appear in the Applications or Games menu (depending on your phone model)
How do I Activate J2ME Mobile Banking Application?
- The customer is required to activate his/her 'J2ME Mobile Banking Application' from the handset. The user is not able to see the Login menu unless the application is activated. The user is required to activate the application before login. Once application is activated user can use login menu to login to the system
